Stancija Lindi

The photos from Nowarent gave us a very different impression from what we found inside. The 1990s furniture was very old, and even the dishes and cutlery were old and rusty. At that price, the place was far too expensive. I found it a disgrace to Croatian and Istrian tourism. Never coming back, avoid it at any cost.

The disagreement in two recent one-star reviews about rusty cutlery and 80s furniture doesn't match what we experienced. Maybe expectations differ, but for us Stancija Lindi was an authentic, lovely Istrian stay and good value. We'd happily return and recommend it. If gold-plated forks and designer chairs are what you want, maybe Dubai is a better fit. We stayed at Stancija Lindi in Varvari, and it had the peaceful, clean, comfortable charm we wanted. The apartment was roomy and well equipped for a relaxing holiday. What we saw online matched the place on arrival, with no photo tricks or surprises. If anything, it looked even better in person. It sits on a small hill in a quiet area, but Poreč and the coast are only a short drive away. The outdoor areas were well kept, and Mira and Lucija made the atmosphere feel calm and welcoming.

We felt at home here. My daughter particularly liked the animals, especially the cheerful cat Ma and sweet dog Ben. She also mentioned the chickens outside, though you can't hear them indoors. She said the inside was problem-free, with big rooms, comfortable beds, a nice bathroom with all the needed amenities, and a kitchen joined to the living room. Outside there was a large green area and a terrace for eating. We all enjoyed the stay a lot.

We picked this place for its lovely, authentic setting just outside Poreč, and it turned out to be a very good choice. The rooms were perfect, everything was provided, and there was nothing to fault. The hostess gave us a very warm welcome and checked in with us almost every day to make sure we were happy.
