Valamar Riviera Hotel & Residence

We stayed at Villa Ulixes, the hotel's new annex about 200 m away, which opened only recently. Its rooms are fresh, spacious, and nicely done. Our windows faced a busy main street, but the sound insulation made it okay. Riviera itself is a bit older, so I'd pick Villa Ulixes. Breakfast had a good choice and brunch was tasty too. A barista makes the breakfast coffee, no machines. The hotel's taxi takes you to and from the parking for free, and the boat to the island is free as well. There's a small gym on the top floor, not very well equipped but okay. The staff were nice, especially the women preparing food in the restaurant. Valamar hotels around Croatia should all have the pancakes served here, they were the best we've had there, soft and tasty. Maybe the chef could share the recipe. Breakfast table service could be better: waiters walked around but didn't take dirty dishes unless we asked.

We loved the room, the comfy bed, and the split balcony over the harbour. There was plenty of tasty food at breakfast, and brunch was included too. Breakfast service felt a little odd and distant at first, though nobody was rude. After we'd been down a few times, coffees were offered promptly. The room was a great size, the bathroom clean, and the shower over the bath worked well. The pillows were very small, but there were more in the wardrobe. Staff were super helpful, and using another hotel's pool was a relaxing bonus. Super place, recommend a stay here.

We had a great check-in and found the location and service excellent. The waterfront view from our room at the new Villa Ulixes was amazing, though the room was a bit smaller than we expected. Breakfast and brunch buffets were plentiful and delicious. Ulixes guests have to walk to the other hotel for breakfast, but it isn't far. They shuttle you and your luggage when you check in.

The staff quickly sorted out a problem with our room key cards, without any hassle. We also got boat transport to the island just across the water, and breakfast and brunch were included. Valamar's service was excellent throughout, from the front desk to the food and rooms. A truly great experience!
