After many years of camping in Croatia, this was our first really bad experience. We booked and paid in advance for a particular parcel type, but were given only worse options, and management didn’t try to sort it out. That says a lot about how guests are treated. The parcel numbers also don’t line up with the map.

The caravans have apparently been here for 25 years or more, and they’re rotting. We paid €1,750 even after an early booking discount of €450, which is absolutely the most this mobile home is worth. The bed was awful, with springs poking into my back, and at 140 by 180 cm it cramped a normal European couple together for sleepless nights. In the bathroom there was mold, the toilet rocked because it was loose on the floor, and the shower only got hot when turned all the way up. At that pressure, it felt like it would take off the top layer of your skin. The 220v sockets either didn’t work or wouldn’t hold the plug, which was really annoying. The caravans left the campsite years ago, or so the joke goes. We emailed in November about bringing our boat and were told it wouldn’t be a problem. There is a boat ramp, but at check-in we were told to make our own buoy. From our previous trips to Croatia, we knew that could damage the boat, so we were lucky that the jetski rental company on site had one to rent for €15 a day. She only had two or three left, though, so not everyone will be so lucky. Unless you want to bring hundreds of kilos of concrete for your boat, think ahead about mooring it. All in all, it’s an “ok” campsite, but its facilities barely deserve more than two stars. Boaters should also know this area gets hard winds and high waves. We had a much better time on the water 50 km north, around the rovinj area, where we’ve found light breezes and low waves on many days. We use several wind apps and know our way around the water.

A disaster. The guy at reception was impolite, and one of the numbered spots nearly certainly wrecked our caravan. One trap right next to another.

Premantura village and the sea are wonderful, but our stay in mobile home 19 was an absolute nightmare. It was old, dirty, moldy and stinky, and reached 50 degrees inside during the day. There was no sea view, and air conditioning cost extra. We paid €120 a night and wanted quiet sleep and at least a little service. Instead, the neighbors in 49 partied and made noise nonstop, with drugs around, so it didn’t feel family friendly at all. The WiFi didn’t work, hot water came and went, the moka didn’t work, and one morning there was no gas, so no coffee. The cleaning staff weren’t working, and things were gross, old and broken. Security wasn’t around at night, and there were lots of fun staff on extra charge. I complained, but nothing positive came of it, and no one answered the phone. I hated this holiday and need a holiday from it. The price wasn’t worth it, and you could get much nicer accommodation in town, like a b&b. Ivan (chef of staff), free air conditioning and late checkout don’t make up for this nightmare. The boss should give us at least a free holiday, one we could finally enjoy and deserve. We won’t be back to mobile home 19.
