Eco-friendly Studios

We stayed for 14 nights, from 31.7. to 14.8.2023, in an apartment booked for five people. At 185 €/night, it was quite expensive, and although the photos looked nice, we were disappointed by how cramped it was. There were positives: a good location, a nice pool in front of the house, immediate parking, two bathrooms, and the apartment was generally furnished okay. The main problem was the size. Even with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, the apartment seemed to be about 30m2 or less and was far too small for a family of five with kids. The kitchen was unusable for our needs. We had to take turns eating because we couldn’t all sit at the table together, and there weren’t enough plates or spoons. We’d eat, wash our dishes by hand, then let the others use them. There was nowhere to dry the dishes, the fridge was tiny, and there was no storage space for groceries that didn’t need refrigeration. There was just one very small closet, so most of our clothes ended up on the floor. The kids had to step over suitcases to get across the room. The bathroom also had nowhere to hang wet towels. The Wi-Fi was down much of the time, and there was often a bad smell in the apartment. That might have been due to the sewage infrastructure not keeping up with how quickly small towns along the Croatian coast have grown, but I’m not sure. The owner had also said there was a dishwasher, but there wasn’t one. We complained to the owners, but they tried to blame us for not asking about the apartment’s square meters, even though we had clearly said we were a family of five with kids and expected something bigger. For two young couples who eat out and don’t use the kitchen, this might be a decent apartment, and I’d probably rate it 4 out of 5. For a family of five with children, it was totally unsuitable, and we felt deceived.

The whole place is really pretty, with clean, cozy rooms, nice decorations, and kind owners. There’s a pool and parking right by the building, and a big plus for me was being able to bring our dog. The peninsula and city center are an easy walk away, as are restaurants and a food market. The beautiful Lady of Loretto statue is about an hour’s walk. It’s worth visiting for the views over the sea, Primošten, the nearby islands, and the coastline.

The apartment was cozy and clean, and the seawater pool was great. It’s a lovely place close to both the beach and the old town.

We’ll be back soon. It’s a perfect place, the accommodation was lovely and clean, and the owner was very kind.
