The owners’ family were kind and helpful, and even brought fresh figs from their garden each morning. The apartment had air conditioning, a fridge, an electric stove, enough hot water, Wi-Fi, and recycling bins. It’s about 500 m from the town center, 800 m from the old town, and 700 m from the beach. Primosten has lots for kids, evening concerts for adults in the old town, and plenty of restaurants. Look for places rated 4.7+ on Google Maps. There are groceries, a drugstore, and a post office in the center, plus a clinic and a bigger supermarket elsewhere in town. There’s also a nice hill near town for a hike, with a statue of Mary and baby Jesus. Some local shopkeepers can be mean and try to outsmart tourists, though not all of them. Most restaurants and shops take cards.

The apartment was on the small side, but it had everything we needed. The host was great, and it’s close to the city center.

We’ve stayed in one of the apartments twice now, and both visits have been just what we wanted. The owners are friendly and helpful, and it’s peaceful at night. There’s free parking right outside the building, while the old town and restaurants are close by. The view is lovely too. We’ll be back for a third stay.

The scenery is beautiful, though the park’s main starting area makes for a short, easy walk, about an hour. To reach the more distant parts, you’ll need a boat, which could be hot, or a 38 km drive from the parking lot to the northernmost Roman camp at Burnum. The park is well organized and equipped. Swimming beneath the waterfall might be tempting, but it’s probably dangerous for anyone who isn’t careful. There’s also a bathing spot where, on June 20, a crowd of young people gathered. Nobody was swimming, they were all standing around taking selfies.

Free parking from the host was a real help, given how expensive parking is in town. The accommodation itself is excellent, tucked away somewhere quiet but still within a short walk of everything. There’s a lovely yard and an olive grove lit up at night, plus a barbecue and summer kitchen you can use. See you next year for sure. Many greetings to Ivanka and Milan.
