Excellent!

The apartment was bright, spotless, and clearly well cared for. We also liked being part of the “18-25 departures” program, which is a real bonus for younger guests. It’s close to a lively neighborhood, so you can hear people enjoying themselves together. Just keep in mind that buses are infrequent, so having a car makes it easier to enjoy your stay.

The private pool was a lot of fun, and the house itself has some nice features, but it was in terrible shape. There was mold in the bedrooms and showers, wallpaper was coming away from the walls, lights kept flickering, and the door handles fell off. The pool was dirty, and we weren’t given the bedding, pillows, or blankets promised for the sofa bed. Although we’d arranged our check-in well ahead of time, we had to wait an extra hour to get in, and nobody showed us around. We were also refused access to the shared indoor pool even though we’d specifically asked, with the explanation that the weather was good. The landlady was very rude and didn’t respond to our complaint about the broken rain shower. Getting there by car is difficult because the roads are extremely narrow. We definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

Construction was underway all around the property, starting at 8 a.m., and the whole surrounding forest was being cleared. They were dumping waste in the forest that remained, too. The services advertised were still under construction. Inside, the apartment was full of ants, the shower leaked, and the jacuzzi pool was cold. You had to uncover it yourself, and it was cold as well. Our arrival felt rushed. At 10 p.m. she came asking for papers she should have photographed beforehand, said in English that “the French never understand anything,” then got angry while speaking to me in a mix of Croatian and English.
