Apartment Viki

Viki, you’re not doing this job well. I’ve stayed in plenty of apartments, and this one was the oldest and ugliest I can remember. Basic bathroom things I’ve found everywhere else were missing, shampoo, soap, a hair cap, a hairdryer, nothing. The kitchen gear was awful, so we ate out every time. The cupboards were coming apart, and I was worried the shutters might fall into the street when I opened them. There was no shower fitting on the bathtub, so you had to hold it the whole time. The building is on a shabby street with houses that look like they’re falling apart. There were slippers that looked new, and we assumed they were free since I’ve often found that elsewhere. After I got home, I received a text accusing me of taking them. They can’t have cost more than a euro at the market! It isn’t nice or hygienic to give the same slippers to everyone. Now that I know they’re reused, I throw them away. She was rude. I asked for her IBAN so I could pay, and she said they cost €10 each. Maybe they’re gold and I just didn’t notice. I also heard her say, “Always the same old Italians.” I’ve found much better places in Croatia for the same price, along with the kindness and courtesy that matter when dealing with tourists. Saying that a low price means you get little doesn’t convince me. Even when I’ve paid little in Croatia, I’ve at least received what was fair.

Niko was a fantastic landlord, friendly and helpful, and even drove us to the airport. The apartment was well equipped for cooking, with air conditioning and a washing machine. It has a balcony overlooking a quiet street of 19th-century houses. The place itself was great, peaceful despite being central.

A complete disaster!!!! There was a damp smell, with damp showing on the walls. The bathtub and coffee machine were dirty, and the dishes and cooking tools were sticky and dirty too. The windows were high up and small. The air conditioner only blew air without cooling.

The view is beautiful, and the apartment was clean and quiet, which mattered most to us. Just the kind of place you’d wish for.
