Fran Center Apartments (Square)

It’s a place worth visiting, especially because it’s right in the heart of the pedestrianized city center. Finding parking is difficult, and you have to pay for it. The apartment is on the top floor, up three flights of stairs. It’s small, but has the basics: a mini-kitchen, table, sofa, bathroom, and bedroom. There’s enough room for two people and a baby in the camping cot the owner provides. There’s also a toy chest, which is a great idea, though the toys weren’t exactly spotless. We arrived using self-check-in to find the air conditioning switched off, and the unbearable heat kept us awake at night. With the low attic ceilings, two-thirds of the apartment felt unusable. The two VELUX windows in the living room and one in the bedroom didn’t provide enough ventilation. The kitchen has the utensils you need, a small stove, refrigerator, and microwave. In the bathroom, the only shower gel was a nearly empty travel bottle, probably left behind by mistake. We’d brought our own, but otherwise we couldn’t have used the shower dispenser because it was empty. It’s a shame, since a little more attention could have made the stay more pleasant.
