Splendid Resort

We had a good stay, and the price was great for what we got. The location is peaceful and has a really nice sea view, the apartments are bright and roomy, the restaurant is quite good, and the staff were generally kind and available. One thing bothered us at the bar: someone asked, “In your country you do not use to leave tips?” That wasn’t a nice way to ask, especially since tipping is optional and it was asked of 20-year-old people who don’t work.

I remember enjoying my stay here with my family back in August 2013, when I was 15. This review may be out of date, but I wanted to share what I experienced. On days away from the pool, we’d take a taxi to Pula, which was fun. Near the resort, the sea aquarium and a place to play Crazy Golf were the main things within walking distance. The pool was great, with staff running activities there every day. I especially liked the ball games guests played together. I felt for those staff members because they didn’t even seem to get weekends off, though they only worked 2-3 hours a day. Music from the speakers gave the pool a party feel. At the time, having no Wi-Fi in the apartment was fine for us, though I know that would be an issue for me now. Internet was only available at the cafe by the pool or the reception building at the resort entrance. I hope the TVs in the rooms have been upgraded too. Apart from that, the apartment was fine.

The shoreline and sunsets are beautiful, and the location is handy for visiting nearby Pula. We were a family from the UK and stayed for 3 nights. The children loved snorkeling in the clear water and swimming in the seawater pool, while mum and dad would have liked more places to eat and drink in the evening. Our two-bedroom apartment was spacious and had a beautiful sea view, but it felt a bit outdated and had very little catering equipment. The 'Village' itself was sadly run down, with lots of deserted buildings, including a former club and fort, which gave the site a sense of a more prosperous past.

The sea was clear and warm, and the rocky beaches mean you’ll want to get a pad to lie on. We had plenty of room for four adults in an apartment that was much larger than expected, with a sea view, good facilities, and everything clean. We tried restaurants at the property and in town, and the food was good and fairly priced. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. We’d happily come back.
