Our stay in June and July 2025 was frightening and awful. At night we found lots of cockroaches, mostly in the bathroom and kitchen. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling and curtain too, but the cockroaches were the main problem. Staying there with them felt impossible. I spent nights killing them, though some got away, and I believe they could pose a serious health risk. I sent photos of cockroaches in both the bathroom and kitchen, along with some mold, to illustrate what we found. When I asked for the remaining money back, the owner refused. He said this was normal because of the warm, humid weather. I told him cockroaches can carry serious illnesses and are a major health concern, but he didn't respond. No one wants to stay up at night keeping watch and trying to kill them. This was the most stressful vacation accommodation I've ever experienced, at “Kapetan” Mr. Ivan Orlic.

Our first-floor apartment in this complex was a nightmare, though I can't speak for the other units. Anyone can list an apartment on Booking.com, of course, but this one showed a 7.9 rating and felt more like one star once we arrived. The host's response when we mentioned bugs in the bathroom was, “Well, it's hot and humid!” The air conditioning situation was also frustrating. It wasn't mentioned that using it would stop being included in the price after 3-4 hours. There was only one unit, in the corner of the horseshoe-shaped living room, with no AC in the bedroom. In 40-degree heat, cool air had little chance of reaching the bed. We had to leave the bedroom window open with the blinds up and hope for a breeze. If we managed to sleep, we'd wake up sweaty and need a shower, only to face the bugs again. The bathroom curtain was dirty and moldy at the bottom, as in the photos. We wanted to air the room after showering, but the window was broken: it only tilted, wouldn't close, and seemed likely to break if opened fully. We asked the landlord to use insecticide, but nothing happened. The furniture and colors feel stuck in the 1970s, which wasn't itself a big deal. The shutters were more of a nuisance: they stuck, needed to be pushed down by hand, and couldn't be lowered all the way or they wouldn't go back up. Awful stay, and our vacation was ruined. I'd avoid it unless you want the same.

Hard to know what to make of it 🤔 The location, price, and shaded terrace were good points, and there was air conditioning, though it was heavily moldy. The room was small and had no window. The furniture was in poor shape, and the walls were extremely dirty. There was a smell, more like a stench 😔

We were on the top floor and had a lovely sea view. The beach, shopping center, fish market, and boat rental were all easy to reach on foot, and the host was very nice. It’s excellent value for money, and the apartment is very spacious. It does feel a little old-fashioned and could use some cleaning, but we had a great, relaxing time and I’d happily recommend it.
