Apartment Spanjol

The quiet setting worked well for us, and we could still walk to the beach or a restaurant. On arrival, the landlord met us at the agreed spot and showed us to the apartment, so we didn’t have to hunt for the house. We were delighted by all the thoughtful extras. There were cold drinks, homemade jam, honey, and honey schnapps waiting, and the place had everything from kitchen supplies to washing powder, softener, toothbrushes, shampoo, and soap. Fresh towels came every three days; after a week, we also got clean bed linen and muffins. I could keep listing things. We were thrilled.

The garden in front of the house is lovely, park-like, and kept with real care. Inside, this is a small, charming family guesthouse. The Spanjol family made us feel very welcome and were so accommodating. Most rooms have air conditioning, a TV, and a little balcony facing the bay; some also have a fridge. You can arrange a generous breakfast or use the guest kitchen for a small daily charge. Access for wheelchair users is only partial: you can get to the house on the hill, but not into the rooms. There, dear readers, is my tip. I hope you’ll leave me a few days each year to enjoy it!

I’ve been back, and somehow the stay was even better this time. The 10 deserves full marks. Thanks for everything, and see you soon. On my first visit, we were treated with such kindness and warmth, along with honey and a bottle of excellent wine. I liked it so much that I’m booking again for this summer.
