Suha Punta Apartments

The setting is peaceful and close to nature, and our room was clean enough. But there’s a lot that needs work. The complex, apart from hotel Carolina and its surroundings, feels old and neglected, which can make getting around uncomfortable. Parking is a long way from the apartment, and the narrow paths leading to the units seem better suited to people than cars. The grocery store was closed, and the supermarket is a bit far away. Overall, the place seems underdeveloped despite its potential. We also found the layout disappointing. The apartments are sections of buildings with two or four joined units, and even the terraces sit close together. From the photos we expected more space between us and our neighbors, so privacy and keeping some distance were difficult. The apartments seem about 40 years old. Everything worked, but little things like loud creaking doors made them feel dated.

The apartment itself was spacious and clean, everything worked, and we were very pleased with it. Parking was poor, though, and there was no Wi-Fi. The website also doesn’t make it clear that check-in is at Carolina, just down the road.

We came for the nearby nice beach and the forested Kalifront peninsula, where I can ride my mountain bike. Otherwise, we wouldn’t come back. Prices go up each year, but almost nothing is done to raise the standard of the bungalows, now given the fancier name “residence.” We usually book the residences months in advance, yet it’s still impossible to get two or three apartments together for our group of five or six.

We couldn’t get comfortable in the shower, and the air conditioning only reached the living room, not the bedroom. The hot water was broken, and the help we asked for never arrived.
