Girandella Villas

We loved Girandella's family-focused setup. There's basically no traffic in the area, but everything you need is within walking distance. The all-inclusive food was okay, though we ate much better at trattoria La Pentola. The gourmet burgers at Oliva grill were delicious too, and we had great cocktails at Vista bar and the Beat club. The staff in every bar and restaurant were incredibly friendly and professional. Everyone worked hard to make our stay enjoyable, and we felt welcomed and pampered the whole time at this lovely family resort. It's hard to single anyone out.

For five years now, our family has spent a week each year at Valamar Maro Suites. It's ideal with small children, the food is delicious, and the staff are friendly and helpful. This year, though, we clearly noticed the cost cutting. I hope management reconsiders and brings things back to how they used to be.

I booked on a whim because the hotel was described as adults only, and it was my first visit to Croatia. From the airport pickup through to the drop-off, the service was amazing. The Girandella Resort staff were kind and helpful throughout. Mdland, the Restaurant Manager, even kept the whole restaurant team back on our first night so we could eat. Nothing felt like too much trouble. Golf buggies could take you wherever you needed to go, and the Experience Concierge was knowledgeable and helpful. The bar staff, housekeeping team, and everyone else were welcoming and smiling. Our room was spacious and clean, the pool was so warm, and the views were breathtaking. I'm already looking at coming back in September. Thank you to all the staff.

Our kids loved the slide from the first floor down to reception, plus the climbing wall and netting. There were several pools for us to use, with different kinds of water slides. The beaches had clear water, though some spots are rocky, so I'd recommend river shoes. There's also a small sandy beach for families. We all enjoyed the included breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffet. The hotel works really well for families, and the staff were fantastic, friendly, and helpful. We had a great time and were impressed with Valamar. We'll book with them again, maybe at another resort.
