The owner brought us lemon cake and fresh eggs from her chickens, and was so hospitable despite the language barrier. We managed fairly easily with the little German we all knew, plus my wife’s bit of Italian. The rooms were cozy, and the view was incredible. It’s also well located for taking the bus into the national park. We were only there for two nights to see Plitvice Lakes, and my only gripe is that I’m a bit too tall for the slanted ceilings, so remember to duck.

We were greeted with cheese and rakija, and the host was very friendly. The apartment was clean, and the balcony had an awesome view.

The bed was so comfortable, and the linen and towels felt really high quality. It was also very quiet and spotlessly clean. The landlady took such good care of us, even bringing homemade cake and sheep's cheese. We were completely won over.

The hostess was lovely, but sleeping in the heat was tough. There’s no air conditioning, so we had to leave the window open at night, and then the mosquitoes came in.
