Villa Albina Skitaca

This is a self-catering house you can rent, not a hotel. It sits quietly on a hillside with a partial sea view. Shops, including Lidl, a Plodiene, or something like that 😁, and plenty more, are about a 20-minute drive away. The rooms show some wear with age, but they’re perfectly fine and nicely furnished. Two have their own bathrooms, another bathroom is upstairs, and there’s one more downstairs. We loved the pool. The owner checked it each day, including the water parameters, but did it so discreetly we barely noticed him. He never disturbed us. The lavender around the house brought loads of butterflies, bumblebees, and bees. We were very happy and will definitely be back. Oh, and if you let the nice lady from Austria recite her little rhyme once, you’ll have peace afterward 😉 That worked for us, anyway.

The house and its view are fantastic. That’s about the only good thing, though. The landlord was very unfriendly and came by every day, supposedly to clean the pool. We felt watched and disturbed. He also called us “not normal” and told us to tidy up. He kept insisting it was a family house, not a party house. If that’s how he wants to present it, he should say so on the house’s website instead of constantly repeating, “This is Family House.” Maybe he left it out for financial reasons. We wouldn’t have rented it if we’d known. The worst part was the neighbor from Austria. At 7 pm she got incredibly upset because we were kicking a football around in the garden and threatened to call the police. It caused quite a stir, and everyone around us laughed. The police never showed up. She also called our quiet music “terror” and described the very gentle bass as a “hammer blow.” The woman really didn’t hear the gunshot!

From the amenities to the view, it was simply a dream. I’d happily return anytime. Just remember, you’ll need a car.

The beach is peaceful, and there’s a good restaurant right there.
