The apartment is a decent size, but my stay left me disappointed. The bathroom smell was very strong and unpleasant, and with no ventilation and just one window in the apartment, there was no way to air it out. The odor spread everywhere. I also found the place looked neglected, with stains visible on the walls and ceilings. The window covering barely darkened the room, and the windows only partly cut outside noise. At night, conversations outdoors came through clearly, so I’d put the soundproofing at about 6/10. The TV wasn’t usable for Czech streaming apps. Kitchen tools felt cheap and plasticky, and were heavily worn; I couldn’t use the plastic cutting board because of microplastic concerns. The washing machine is shared with other apartments, so I wasn’t confident about its cleanliness and left it alone. With proper cleaning and upkeep it could be acceptable, but as it is, it made a poor impression.

My booking was for 2023, but I was asked by the current owner to cancel it. The ownership still hadn’t been sorted out, as the apartments were expected to be sold shortly, and it was unclear whether the new owner would keep the business going. I’m left wondering why it was still available to book through some channels.

Whenever I’m in Rijeka, this is the place I choose, and I don’t look elsewhere. The studio is beautifully furnished and quite luxurious, while the host’s hospitality is amazing. I’d strongly recommend it, especially for business travelers.

We got there around 22:00, and the kind, cooperative host brought us everything we asked for. The apartments were clean and cosy, and the location was great.
