We found the owner easy to reach, with quick, straightforward communication. The house was a great fit for our two families, and the furnishings were clean and tidy, with everything we needed. It’s also set in peaceful surroundings, which made it easy to relax and recharge.

The house is tucked away at the end of a very narrow street, with a lovely sea view. One thing to know is that the ground floor connects to the upper floor only by an outside staircase, and one bedroom is downstairs. That could be awkward with little kids, though it worked for us: the older children slept below and the younger ones upstairs. We stayed for a week as two families, four adults and four children, and were sorry to leave. The place was spotless and in excellent condition. The lit pool was a highlight, especially for the children, who loved swimming at night in the warm weather. The homeowner was kind and helpful. When we couldn’t find the address because Maps showed it at the other end of the village, he sent someone to meet us. The map location was corrected. Sv. Marak beach is about a five-minute drive away. The guidebook calls it one of the island’s prettiest beaches, and it’s sandy, although water shoes are still a good idea because there are stones in and along the water. There’s a small shop in the village for essentials. For a bigger grocery run, you’ll need to go to Krk, where there are supermarkets such as Lidl and Konzum.

Awful service. The woman is nice only to tourists, and if you don’t show that you’re willing to pay for everything on the questionable menu, she hides away instead of serving you. No more dogs, and they have a dead one. How could you not die with such a babuskara
