Boutique Hotel Valdibora

This was the highlight of our holiday through Croatia and Italy. The host was awesome, and I’d definitely stay there again if I’m back in Croatia.

The location was great, and I wish I could have written a positive review, but the room quality was very poor. We paid 180 euros for one night at a 4-star hotel, and at that price I didn't expect a faulty shower head, moldy caulking everywhere, black residue inside the toilet bowl, mold buildup on the sink faucet, rusty shelves, and black mold on the room walls. It was unacceptable even for a 1-star hotel. Management moved us to another room, but did so reluctantly. That room was better, though I still can't recommend this hotel.

The location in the old center is perfect, and the restaurant on site is worth recommending too. Parking is the one thing that's hard to sort out. Our first room didn't match what we expected from the photos, but the staff member moved us to a new one right away and checked several times that everything was okay. They were very engaged, tried to help with every issue, and gave us useful information and tips. We'd love to go back.

Breakfast was good, and the hotel is right in the center of town, which is a great location. But it was very expensive for what felt like a three-star place, not four. They first gave us two rooms, then 15 minutes later the receptionist said she'd made a mistake and switched one for a worse room, smaller and darker. The bathroom needed more cleaning, and the bed linen should be replaced.
