There’s plenty of space in the house and the kitchen is fairly large, though it has very little useful counter space for cooking. The air in the rooms felt stale when we arrived, but opening the windows for a day fixed that.

We loved the huge fenced garden and the big terrace, especially with our dog. The house is lovely and was built around 2014. It sits quietly among olive groves and vineyards in eastern Rovinj, with no traffic at all. The tradeoff is the last few hundred meters of access road, which has lots of potholes, so drive very slowly. The owner is lovely and always ready to help.

The house is clean and quiet, with the countryside feel, while the Maistra campsite and its amenities are nearby. You can walk there on a dirt road. Our host was helpful and friendly, but never intrusive. It’s a handy base for cycling, whether you’re riding along the coast into Rovinj or heading to the beaches around Cisterna or Palude, which we found the most beautiful.

We stayed with our two-year-old and found the place peaceful, roomy, and safe. The house has two large bedrooms, a spacious bathroom, and a kitchen with a sofa and dining table. There’s also a big terrace with a safe, pleasant BBQ spot and a gazebo shading part of it. We had everything we needed, and whenever something came up, the owner was there to help. A restaurant we really liked is only 200 meters away; the campsite and sea access are another 300 meters beyond it. The house is secluded and still close enough to Rovinj. Getting there means taking a dirt track, which is quite normal in Croatia. It felt like a dream holiday, and we’d happily come back.
