Maistra Select Island Hotel Katarina

The ferry ran like clockwork and the staff were great, including the ferry team. Special mention to Sonja at the lobby bar. Our room had amazing views, and breakfast was huge, with everything you could want. It's peaceful and beautiful, and great value too. Love this place and highly recommend it.

We were very happy with our hotel choice and would definitely recommend it. On our first trip to Croatia, we stayed at hotel Katarina and found the free guest ferry made it easy to reach the mainland and explore beautiful Rovinj by day or night. The island has so many places to swim and sunbathe that the beach and other areas never felt crowded. Reception staff were always helpful, and our half-board restaurant had a great variety of food. The one thing that could be better is evening tea and coffee. The only option was the paid bar, and on a couple of evenings we couldn't get any because the machine was out of order or being cleaned. 🙂

The quiet island, shady coves, and places to sit make Katarina feel private and unspoiled. The boat trips are lovely, and the view across to the old town is unparalleled. We've visited Rovinj eight times and Katarina four times over the years. We fell in love with the area a long time ago, and this is still our favourite place to stay, even after trying other properties and apartments. Please don't change or 'update' what you offer. It's truly special and full of character. All the staff are so kind and helpful too.

The view back towards Rovinj was the best part. Wandering around this peaceful island brought us amazing views of the old town and lovely quiet places to sit and relax. The beach areas were fantastic, and the ferries to the port and town were prompt and fun. The shuttle to the car park was quick and efficient. Our stay at Hotel Katerina was fantastic, with exceptionally clean rooms, dining, and outdoor areas, plus varied food of great quality. Angeliya deserves a special mention for being so welcoming and teaching me some basic Croatian every day. Definitely recommend. We'll be back for sure!
