The room balconies are tiny, too close to neighboring rooms for privacy, and separated by cheap-looking plastic partitions that don’t suit a 5-star hotel. The wellness area and pool are also miniature, and five guests are enough to make them feel crowded. Breakfast staff could use communication training, especially around serving priority and personal conversations that guests can hear. There are good points too. The location is perfect, reception staff are excellent, and the lobby bar is phenomenal. Breakfast tastes very good, and the à la carte choices make up for the fairly limited buffet.

Set in a secluded Adriatic cove just south of Ravinj, this hotel is right by the water and within walking distance of town. The beach club was great, a short walk past the four pools, and the loungers have call buttons so you can keep ordering cocktails. We enjoyed the hotel restaurant and its live music every night we were there. We did try a massage, though I wouldn’t recommend it.

We spent nine nights here and enjoyed it a lot. The grounds are beautiful, the pools were spotless, and the food selection across Monte Mulini and its sister properties was wonderful. The staff were especially courteous and helpful, including concierge Tena/Irina, pool staff Haris/Ante, and dining staff Sandra/Fuso/Saša. The room felt a little dated in its decor and furniture, though the bathroom had been nicely updated. We’d recommend staying here and will be back.

I liked having the hotel’s pool and beach while still being able to get into the lovely little town of Rovinj. The walk takes about 20 minutes and has lovely views, shops, and a wonderful promenade. The breakfast terrace was a lovely place to sit, with a nice view, a wide selection, and especially good orange juice. The rooms are beautiful, the facilities are great, and the service was exceptionally friendly. I’d happily return. If you want to be right in town, you can stay there, but I liked the convenience of this location.
