We chose this hostel because Samobor didn't seem to have another budget option. The place was clean, and they supplied bedding and towels, though the towel was closer to hand-towel size. There were large common spaces downstairs, which helped since there was barely room to spend time in the sleeping area. Each sleeping space was more like a cubicle inside one large room, with very little floor space. My suitcase took up most of it when I opened it. The setup meant sharing with around 20 people, and sound carried between everyone. Lockers were available, but they didn't look especially secure. It wasn't the nicest hostel I've stayed in.

Back in summer 2010, I stayed at this hostel for three weeks. We were construction workers building the Lidl supermarket in Samobor before it opened. Great memories!

The heating was the one good thing, and the owner was friendly. But the older woman working at the hostel was extremely rude and unpleasant. Meal service was awful: they even wouldn't give us bread, saying it was meant for the chickens. On our last night she began kicking people out of their rooms, although we were allowed to stay until morning. Really bad.

I slept well during my one-night stay at this cosy hostel. Gabby, Daniella, and Alfie were all kind and accommodating, and the toilets were clean. Great value, too, I paid only £16.

Host Tomislav has such a warm, welcoming spirit that I felt like I was in the best hostel ever. Some hostels try to create a family feel, but he has it naturally. The place itself is interesting, nice, and clean, and worth every penny. I highly recommend it!
