Valamar Tamaris Resort - Casa Agava

Families with young children would have a good time here, and I liked that the resort welcomes dogs. The pools were nice enough if pools are your thing, and there's a lovely park for walks or jogging. The beach was great, with plenty of natural shade, lots of sunbeds and parasols, though you have to pay for them. There are plenty of activities, too. The grounds are cared for, with staff working around the clock, even cleaning seaweed off the beaches. Service in the rooms and restaurant was really good, and the staff were very friendly. A big thank you to them. The rooms let it down for me. They smelled damp and felt small, dark and a bit sad. The towels were thin, almost see-through, and the terraces or balconies weren't somewhere I'd want to sit and relax, with the dark space and cheap chairs. It doesn't seem like it would take much to redo the rooms and add a nicer touch. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and there's plenty of food with a good range. But the bread was pretty terrible, the salads weren't good, and desserts were poor in both variety and quality. I was also disappointed that vegetarian dishes weren't labelled. You couldn't tell whether they had bits of meat in them, and sometimes the staff didn't know either.
