Coming back to this spacious, clean house after long walks in Plitvicka National Park was a real pleasure. The kitchen made it easy to cook, and we loved having dinner at the outdoor table and bench with that beautiful view. It’s very quiet around the house, and the bedroom shutters block out all the light, which made for a great night’s sleep. The shower was nice, with very hot water available. We accidentally switched off the boiler and couldn’t work out why the water had gone cold, but a quick chat with Josip through Booking sorted it in minutes. Communication was great. The location worked really well for us. Entrance 1 is 8 minutes away, and a fairly large Tommy supermarket is a 7-minute drive further up. There are a drugstore, gas station, and other shops by the supermarket, plus two smaller supermarkets even closer. There are several restaurants in that area, though we didn’t try them ourselves. We heard they were supposed to be very good. If you’re going to Plitvicka National Park, book tickets ahead if you can. We nearly missed out on the early slots from 07:00-08:00. On day one, we left for the park at about 06:45 and waited in line until around 07:45. We watched the ticket numbers dropping online, but just got tickets for the 08:00 slot and went straight in. We booked the next day’s tickets right away and got the earliest slot, which was a bit cheaper. We paid €60 per person for two days. First we walked route C, which is 8 km and takes you to all the beautiful spots. It wasn’t too crowded even though it was high season, but the park fills up quickly, so arriving at 07:00 or 08:00 at the latest gives you a head start and lets you see things calmly. We also took hiking trail 1, a 3,2 km route away from the waterfalls that led us through probably the prettiest forest I’ve ever been in. I can really recommend it. On day two we did route K, which is 18 km. It takes you onto lovely forest paths with relatively few people, and starting around 07:45 was nice. But it’s a longer route that also goes to the park’s hotspots, so in the afternoon you run into long lines of tourists. That’s a downside of doing the long route in high season, and you’ll want to keep afternoon walking around the park to a minimum. There’s also a lack of extra toilet buildings. Toilets are available in some areas where you can get food and drinks, but long stretches of the 18 km route had none in sight, so keep that in mind. At first, we thought we’d upgraded to a whole house to ourselves. When we arrived, we saw there were neighbors in an apartment downstairs. That wasn’t a problem in itself, but they had a baby or child who cried often. We could hear it, though it wasn’t too bad. After the first night, the power went out. Luckily, we’d charged our phones and power banks the evening before. We messaged Josip and headed to the park. By the time we got back that afternoon, the power was working again. Great communication and service.

It was tidy and comfortable, and quite nice overall. There were cups, but no dishes or other kitchen equipment.

A peaceful place, neat and clean. It suited our family of five and two grandparents well.

Everything else was perfect. The only thing missing was a washing machine.
