Senj has a couple of big supermarkets about a five-minute drive away, as well as restaurants and ice cream shops. In the center there are also two partly paved beaches, both with parking, and one has a jumping platform. After sunbathing, the six of us played international football matches on nearby pitches until sunset. We didn't get around to exploring the mountains around the city, though they look well worth a visit. The apartment was roomy and comfortable, with air conditioning and good equipment, though no dishwasher. The owner was very friendly. We spoke English, and some Slavic languages too. The nearest beach is a few minutes on foot through residential streets, then across a busy road and down 200 steps. It's definitely worth the walk, it's beautiful. The beach is small, but there was space for all six of us whenever we went, in early July. You can jump into the water from one spot, or walk or swim to similar beaches nearby and farther out among the rocks. There's also a spring in the beach, like others in the area. It creates a fascinating effect, with a thin layer of fresh, cooler water near shore floating over the warmer seawater before the ripples mix them together.

It's in good condition and clean, with a terrace, barbecue area, and a well-equipped kitchen. The hosts are very friendly, though communication can be a little challenging. It's fairly close to both the beach and shops, and the standard feels higher than the price suggests. I recommend it.
