The sea and the tidy town beach were only about 300-400 meters away, with a café, bakery, ice cream shop, and pizzeria right there. Lidl was a short drive, no more than five minutes. We also had hardly any trouble with mosquitoes. A few got in, but the sliding screens on every window took care of most of that. We booked two weeks on the spur of the moment, and it turned out great. Drago and his wife Maria were wonderfully welcoming. Drago speaks fairly good German, communication before the trip went smoothly, and even though we arrived a few hours early, we were greeted with plum brandy, fresh bread, cheese, and ham. Maria’s cakes were delicious, and since Drago lives across the street, it was nice to share a few glasses of wine or shots with him. Our apartment was No. 3, about 60 m², on the ground floor of a five-unit building. The parking spot was beside it under a grapevine-covered canopy. Inside, a large entrance area led to a well-equipped kitchenette and dining table, while the full-size living room and bedroom had their own space. The layout made it feel like a place you could really settle into for a holiday. The kitchen had a fridge, oven, microwave, and kettle. There was air conditioning in the entrance, and it cooled the apartment well. We only used it in the evenings. The house felt quite new. This was our first trip to Croatia, and we loved the apartment, the beach, and the area. We’d gladly come back.

It was fine, though I did miss having some green lawn and a garden.
