D-Resort Šibenik

The staff were incredible, and breakfast had a good selection of fruit for vegetarians. The location was perfect, about an eight-minute drive from the old town.

The food and views were outstanding, and the service was excellent. It was a quiet stay, and the staff were always ready to help. Such a lovely surprise, and thanks for a memorable visit.

We booked a double room for two, with a note that our five-year-old daughter would be coming along and sleeping in our bed. Before booking, we’d called to ask whether we needed to reserve for three. The receptionist clearly said a booking for two was enough, so we relied on that answer. Our stay was July 29-30, and we were traveling as a couple with our daughter. The hotel setting was beautiful and its standards impressed us. We arrived late and were warmly welcomed, but at check-in the receptionist mentioned an extra €50 charge for a third person. We reminded him about the call the previous day, and he seemed to understand. At checkout, a different receptionist insisted on collecting the €50. She said she had spoken with the colleague from our call, who supposedly said our daughter could “sleep in the same bed.” That wasn’t what we’d asked. We spoke Croatian throughout the call, check-in, and checkout, so there was no language barrier or misunderstanding. The room we had booked was for two and had only one queen bed, and we received no extra service for the charge. It was disappointing that the hotel wouldn’t acknowledge its mistake or offer any goodwill gesture. That left a bitter taste in what could otherwise have been a great experience. The infrastructure and setting are excellent, but this situation showed a lack of responsibility and customer orientation.

We enjoyed walking during the day and arriving in Šibenik in style by water taxi pontoon boat. We came for a week of autumn sun, away from the crowds, and the hotel delivered. The customer service and room quality were first class.
