I was going to leave it alone, but after arriving home with what I believe was severe food poisoning, I feel I need to say something. The first impression didn't feel like five-star service. Several employees were near the check-in desk and another was on the phone, but nobody acknowledged us for a few minutes. After we checked in, we were more or less waved toward the elevator, with no help or clear directions to our room. At the spa, there were no towels. We were told there might be some in 30 minutes. The spa itself is just a small pool and one working sauna. Around 23:00 that night, we went to the car to get something. The female employee didn't know how to unlock the main door or any of the others. She spent at least 10 minutes trying to reach a manager and taking us from door to door while we were locked in. It made me wonder what would happen in a fire. Eventually she opened a side door, so we had to walk all the way around the hotel and back. At the bar, we ordered a “martini” and got a drink that absolutely wasn't a martini, served in a whiskey glass. We sent it back and were given the very same drink in the same glass again. Nobody there seemed trained in bartending. The young male employee didn't know what a martini was, and it was very hard to understand or communicate with him in Croatian or English. Most of the staff seemed to lack hospitality training, since they wouldn't acknowledge or greet us. The exception was the Croatian restaurant manager, who was pleasant and went out of his way to greet and talk with us. This wasn't the worst hotel I've stayed in, but calling it “5 stars” is a real stretch.

We’ve celebrated my child’s birthday here, and the hotel also puts on lovely activities for kids, with pool fun in summer and Christmas events in winter. The staff are amazing, and everything is so clean and neat. Such a unique, kid-friendly place. The absolute best hotel in Dalmatia! ♥️

There are lovely historic places to explore nearby, with some within walking distance. Split and other attractive areas are also easy to reach with a short taxi ride. We found the facilities excellent, and the staff professional and pleasant. Special thanks to the reception ladies, who were so engaging and welcoming. You made our stay even more enjoyable. Simply wonderful.

The gym is basically a closet, and when classes for people who aren’t staying at the hotel are happening, guests can’t use it. The Wi-Fi didn’t work properly either. We even lost power for an hour one evening, with no backup generator. The reception staff seemed to have no idea what service means. If you want to go back 50 years, this might be your hotel. It’s not worth five stars; most modern three-star places are better.

The location is great, and the hotel has a swimming pool. Our room was quite large, and the staff were friendly. There seems to be a water drainage problem with the toilets that needs attention.
