Solar Beach Inn

The clean room had a balcony where we enjoyed sitting and looking out over the water. We also had a great ocean view from the back deck, where we got coffee from the cafe across the street one morning before heading out. The location is about twenty minutes from Split, and the hotel had one of the few AC units we found. We really needed it, even in April. The bathroom was tiny, and its door was see-through, so my friend and I had to be careful in the shower to avoid accidentally flashing each other. The card-operated light switch also had to sit just right, or the lights went out after 15 seconds. As of April 2025, there was major road construction on the hotel’s road, which made driving in and parking a bit difficult. The lot has limited spaces, so I’d suggest checking in early if you want to secure one.

The stay was pleasant, and the hotel is in an excellent location. But for more than €1,000, I expected the room to be cleaned every day. Having to do it ourselves while on vacation was disappointing.

The views at sunrise were lovely, and all the employees were friendly. Breakfast was satisfactory, though the choices were somewhat limited. There’s a small parking area at the hotel, but I’m not sure if you can reserve a space ahead of time. It’s about twenty minutes from Split, which is convenient if you have a rental car. The bathroom is fairly cramped and has no door for the bath, so water gets onto the floor. Cleaning was minimal: the cleaner took out the rubbish and brought fresh towels, but didn’t do anything else, like vacuuming.

The breakfast was good, and the staff were kind and helpful. The hotel is only a couple of minutes from the beach, though it’s a long way from the city center. Our room was roomy and new, but the shower was so cramped that it blocked the toilet, making it hard to sit down. There’s plenty of free public parking nearby, although it fills up quickly with people heading to the beach.
