Amari Apartments

The bathroom was fine, and having air conditioning was a plus. The building itself is well maintained and looks good inside and out, but the rooms didn’t match the pictures. We stayed in apartment 5 on the first floor near the main entrance. Its heavy door kept slamming loudly from early in the morning because people couldn’t close it properly. The whole complex was noisy: we heard people talking and walking in the stairwell and hallways, water running, things dropping in other apartments, children crying, and the washing machines in the basement. The apartment is near the sea and beach, but getting there means crossing the main road and going down a steep 40-meter slope beside a guardrail. Starigrad is a small village with a few restaurants and two small supermarkets. The location is okay overall, though reaching the main highway takes about 20 minutes over a winding 50 km/h road, around 15 km. The apartment was poorly equipped, with only a small electric stove, no proper baking pan, few kitchen utensils, no extractor hood, no oven, and no balcony. There was a dishwasher, but the Wi-Fi didn’t really work. Three windows had fly screens and shutters, but they faced a parking lot where car noise was loud. The other window opened, but didn’t let us ventilate the apartment. The small, cramped bedroom got very hot early in the morning, so sleeping normally was difficult. The person who checked us in, who I assume was the owner, seemed in a hurry, was awkward, and wasn’t very friendly or helpful. Her English wasn’t great, which made communication harder. We won’t return, and would advise looking for another apartment.

A comfortable apartment where everything was taken care of, making for a pleasant stay. It’s in a good spot for a holiday, quiet and close to a beach and several lovely towns to visit. Highly recommend it.

The house was spotless and tidy, and the hosts were brilliant. It’s in an excellent location. We’ll definitely come again!

Far from the restaurants, with big hills to climb on the way to and from the beach. The room was really small, with a poor view and a microscopic balcony. Way too expensive!
