Villa Kayo

The Magnolia apartment was very spacious, but it needs renovation. The furniture and linens are very old and should be replaced. The house is in a wonderful spot with a lovely garden, and the housekeeping lady was friendly and helpful. Kayaks, bicycles, a washing machine, and a dryer were available at no extra charge.

The housekeepers were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the setting is beautiful. But the facilities need renovation, and we went without hot water for four of our nine days. The boiler was outdated and broken, leaving us with icy water. The other guests left, while we stuck it out. The owners never got in touch or tried to fix things or make our stay easier. We didn’t even get a thank you, goodbye, or apology. Such a shame, and we were very disappointed.

There’s a lot to enjoy in the garden: sun loungers with cushions, an outdoor shower, kayaks, a stand-up paddleboard, and a barbecue. The grounds are well kept, though there are lots of ants in the lawn near the property. It’s very peaceful, and staff came several times a week to change towels. There’s a phone number on a sign outside if you have questions. We were three people in a small but lovely, very clean apartment. It had a bedroom, bathroom, separate toilet, kitchen, living and dining area with a sofa bed, and terrace. The bathroom and toilet were in the same room, which didn’t bother us. The shower head is fixed to the wall, and the window screens could use replacing, especially with so many mosquitoes around in the evenings. The kitchen was well equipped, though it didn’t have egg cups. The sea is right in front. There are rocks and stones on one side, great for snorkeling, and sand on the other, good for ball games or little kids. The harbor and smaller town center are about a 10-minute walk away, or you can use a free bike. There are plenty of restaurants with similar prices and good food, but not many bars or cafes. You’ll also find bakeries and small grocery stores, although those are overpriced. The small old town is worth a look, with a very good, popular restaurant. Bigger supermarkets are easy to reach by bike or car. The house and the surrounding area are beautiful, and we had a very nice vacation.

Parking is available on site, and you can use the sun loungers, kayaks, and bicycles for free. Our apartment was very well maintained and had all we needed: a bedroom, a well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom. The owner was always reachable, polite, and easy to communicate with in English. It’s a beautiful villa right by the sea, with several apartments.
