Hotel Borovnik

We felt safe and comfortable at Borovnik, and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is fairly large, with new, well-maintained rooms. Breakfast was delicious and had plenty to choose from. The staff were welcoming and helpful, although they had a little trouble speaking English with us. Thank you, greetings from 🇦🇱

As a guest, you feel welcomed into the family and treated more like a member than a visitor. It's a great little family-run hotel, centrally located in Tisno, just across the bridge on Murter Island.

The waiter was so rude that we didn't even dare complain about the food. The iced coffee was basically hot milk with ice cubes tossed in. My friend ordered an omelette, which was dry and rubbery, served with dry, unbuttered bread and no condiments. My Eggs Benedict came with two slices of processed bread that weren't toasted or buttered, a very thin slice of processed ham, and undercooked poached eggs. We came for breakfast and the food was abysmal. Avoid at all costs.

The main problem was that the AC in our room wasn't working. We don't usually rely on air conditioning, but it gets very hot here, especially at night, so we had to leave the windows wide open. Then the town bell rang loudly for quite a while at 6 AM every morning, making it hard to sleep. We were out and about most days, so it didn't affect us too much, but during warmer months I'd definitely book a room with working AC. The room was spacious by Eastern European standards, and the bed was large and comfortable, though it was two twin beds pushed together, as is common in the region. We were on the first floor (second level). The property was secure and well maintained, and a code was needed to enter at night. The clean, spacious pool was a nice extra. The location at Hotel Borovnik was incredibly convenient, right off the bridge and close to taxis, ATMs, shops, restaurants, and an ice cream shop next door. Staff were warm, friendly, and very accommodating. I arrived around noon, before the usual 3-4 PM check-in, and they welcomed me with no hassle or extra fee. When I said I was waiting for my boyfriend, they noticed our room was a single, upgraded us to a double, and found a new room for us in just 15 minutes. That kind of service was rare and much appreciated. I'd absolutely recommend Hotel Borovnik and stay again, with a working AC next time.
