Hotel Plava Laguna

The staff were extremely polite and helpful, and the location was good, with markets nearby, both beaches a 10 minute walk away, and parking right in front of the hotel. The rooms were beautiful and clean, with a balcony in every room and a great view. What I didn't like was that drinks weren't included with the meals, even water, despite our big group having an all-inclusive stay. We had to order and pay for them. The menu also got repetitive, and we ate fish and french fries almost every day.

The staff and owner were kind and helpful, and the room and bathroom had good equipment. The balcony view was nice, and the hotel is close to the center. Sadly, breakfast was low budget, with what seemed like the cheapest juices, cheese, salami, just a few vegetables, and instant coffee from the machine. We couldn't use the fridge in the room because of hygiene. Lunch was a big disappointment too. The beef soup was the worst soup I've had in my life, the second course was middle class, and the pancake had an unnatural taste. I think cheap, basic ingredients were the biggest issue. The restaurant kitchen is well equipped, but the kitchen staff need much better ingredients and maybe more experience.

The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We tried the Laguna Salad, octopus salad, and a meat plate, then returned the next day for the roasted lamb platter, which you need to pre-order.

We tried to order two drinks and two bowls of chips, but the manager rudely turned us away because he wanted each of us to order a main from his menu. It was publicly embarrassing, and I've never experienced worse service.
