We were very disappointed by the unresolved problems and the lack of support from the owner and Booking.com during our eight-day stay. I contacted Booking.com on day three, but their message saying they had asked the owner to improve things arrived on day eight, while we were already at the airport. The apartment itself had several problems. The bedroom bed was broken and its mattress misshapen. We were given only sheets, and when we asked for duvets, we were told they weren't provided in summer. There was just one air-conditioning unit, which we felt wasn't enough. When we raised that, they said it was adequate, and refused our request for a fan. The Wi-Fi never worked. The manager first said the password they'd given us was wrong, then said it needed resetting, but the problem wasn't fixed. At reception, an elderly couple spoke only German, so it was difficult to communicate and the welcome felt unwelcoming. When we asked for a crib for our 20-month-old, they hesitated and suggested the sofa bed. After an uncomfortable ten-minute conversation using Google Translate, we finally got the crib. The stay was a letdown because these issues remained unresolved and neither the owner nor Booking.com took proper responsibility or communicated well.

The parking spot was shaded, and we liked having a terrace to sit on in the evening. The initial cleaning was okay too. Those were the few positives. We asked in the morning if the room would be ready around 13-14, and were told yes. We arrived in Trogir at 13:46, but it wasn't ready; we only got in at 15. The two hosts were both over 70 and spoke only Croatian or German, so asking questions or understanding them was nearly impossible. There were just a few signs. During our eight-day stay, they never replaced our two towels or sheets. They left two rolls of toilet paper, and we had to buy the rest. The Wi-Fi didn't work, and they did nothing about it, just left our messages on read. The TV had about five channels, all in German. The AC seemed ancient and had to run day and night to keep the room at a good temperature. The small fridge made an unbearable noise near the bed. We had room 7 on the fourth floor, since the numbering starts on the third floor. The bathroom smelled all the time, the toilet brush was broken, and its handle kept falling off. Opening the terrace door would also open the bathroom door. There was only one bin bag, so we had to buy more. The bed was quite low and very uncomfortable, with two mattresses instead of one. There are more things I could list. I think that's enough for anyone else to avoid being caught out like we were and choose somewhere else. You don't want this kind of stay on holiday.
