Bifora Heritage Hotel

This really doesn't feel like a four-star hotel. The bed creaks, the TV is crooked on the wall and looks like it could fall any moment, and the air conditioner makes an awful noise. We couldn't open the windows because of how loud the street was. The room was clean and the shower pressure was good. Apart from that, there wasn't anything pleasant.

Breakfast was lovely and the service there was excellent. We only ate breakfast, and that brought my service rating up to four stars, though I'd give the stay 3.5 overall at best. Check-in was smooth, and our room was ready early, but they forgot to give us the safe deposit key. There wasn't even a free bottle of water in the room, and there weren't enough cups for the three of us. At one point the front desk was empty when I had a question, and the bar and restaurant staff seemed completely uninterested, telling me to ring the bell. When someone came in to pay for food, their attitude changed quickly, which left a very poor impression. Room 201 was nice, but with the sofa bed open, it blocked movement around the TV. The bathroom had a similar problem: the toilet roll holder was placed so awkwardly that you had to sit sideways. The room was next to a cleaning cupboard and the outside door, so there was constant noise early in the morning and late at night. I imagine a soft-close mechanism could fix the door issue, which was the main problem. The room itself was clean, but the lovely outside balcony terrace was filthy, and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. At over £200 a night, that's not good enough. On checkout day, we asked to use a shower after a day at the beach and were told it would cost €85.

The hotel room was a little small because it's in a heritage building, but it was just right. Everything was very clean, the staff were friendly, and the location was great, close to the airport. We had an amazing stay!

It's a great little hotel, handy for the airport and perfectly placed for catching your yacht from one of the Trogir marinas. The room was nice and had a lovely balcony, and breakfast was excellent. The service was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the bathroom fan. It was very, very noisy and kept running for a while after we switched it off. The desk clerk seemed surprised when I mentioned it, but the hotel needs to address it.
