Heritage Hotel Pasike

The location in Trogir is excellent, but that was the only real positive for our group of 23 travelers from India, including five older people, children, and babies. We stayed in late May, and I still don't understand the 4-star rating. Getting around was hard because there was no lift and many rooms were on the second or third floor, so guests had to haul heavy bags up the stairs. The room phone didn't work either, meaning we had to go down to reception whenever we needed help. Hot water was unavailable because, apparently, the boiler hadn't been turned on. It took us a while to figure that out, and the response when we raised it felt very unprofessional. Reception also wasn't staffed all night. The building seemed neglected, with damaged fixtures, unfinished and unpainted walls, damp patches and mould. Several areas looked worn and poorly kept, and we found water and leftover food floating in the kettle when we opened it to heat water for our baby's food. Breakfast was extremely basic for a hotel with a 4-star claim. There wasn't even toast, and the choices were so limited that our group had to make other arrangements and prepare ready-to-cook food. For families, older guests, or tour groups, I'd recommend looking at other places in Trogir. A good location can't make up for the missing amenities, poor upkeep, and uncomfortable stay. The authorities should review the star ratings of properties like this and make sure tourists are protected from what feels like a scam.
