We had dinner in Hotel Monika’s courtyard, where a chef cooked on the outdoor grill. It was a fantastic meal and a lovely experience. The hotel itself feels like a little oasis in the middle of the old town, with very friendly, helpful staff. Our bedroom and bathroom were both spacious, and the shared balcony looking over the courtyard was a nice spot to relax. Highly recommend staying and eating here.

Hotel Monika’s restaurant ended up being one of the best meals we had, especially the lamb chops. After trying several so-so places nearby, we started eating there instead of at the tourist restaurants. The service was great, and we enjoyed our stay enough to buy bottles of red wine as gifts for the staff. We spent 8 days in Trogir and used it to explore the area. Since the town is smaller than Split, it was easier to get in and out. You can’t drive up to the hotel, but drop-off and public parking are very close by. There’s a grocery store, fruit markets, restaurants and sights nearby. A GrayLine tour office is at the drop-off spot, which made it easy to book trips to Dubrovnik and the Krk waterfalls.

The rooms were immaculate and well equipped, and the restaurant was great, with hardworking, friendly staff. The breakfast team kept things running with a smile. Tony deserves a special mention, he couldn’t do enough for us. Everyone went out of their way to make us comfortable, from meeting us at the Northgate to help with bags and find our way through the city alleys, to bringing luggage to our room and helping with towels, glasses, ice buckets and breakfast requests. Probably the best accommodation experience of our holiday.

In the middle of a beautiful city, this hotel has a great location. The rooms are spotless and well equipped, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely return. 😊
