Bluesun Holiday Village Afrodita

Bluesun Afrodita has a fabulous spot by the beach, with local shops and restaurants easy to reach. Our room was spacious, with a lounge area, balcony, comfortable beds, and good AC. Most staff were friendly, and the restaurant team were especially kind, polite, and efficient. We had a pleasant stay, but the meals had some real downsides. Breakfast was decent, especially the eggs cooked fresh, while dinner disappointed us: the fish was overcooked every time and some dishes lacked flavour. We were surprised that dinner came with no drinks at all, not even tap water. The drinks we bought also seemed overpriced.

The pool bar team deserve a special mention for their kindness and respect. All the staff were friendly and ready to help, and the warm hospitality made the stay even better. The location was perfect, close to everything we needed for a relaxing holiday, with stunning views. I had a fantastic time and would gladly return. Definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel sits right by the sea and is a short walk from town. Staff, especially in the kitchen and restaurant, were friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern, and the grounds are nicely landscaped. A few things left a bad impression, though. Allergens were labelled incorrectly or not labelled at all in the restaurant, an issue I've also seen at other Valamar hotels. Dinner drinks weren't included and were far too expensive, with a 10% service charge added to every order. The paid parking often had no free spaces, so we sometimes had to park outside the marked bays. For the price, I would expect enough spaces and a fully covered lot. Pool signs clearly prohibit reserving loungers, yet at least half were claimed in the morning and left unused until afternoon. Nobody enforced the rule, and by 10 a.m. it was nearly impossible to find a place by the pool. Room cleaning was quite poor too. The maids made the beds, changed towels, and emptied the rubbish, but didn't really clean, especially in the bathroom. The floor wasn't vacuumed once all week. I doubt it had been vacuumed before we arrived either, since there was still hair on it.

The balcony scenery wasn't a sea view at all, and breakfast in the hall was noisy. The location by the beach and sea is nice, and the facilities are clean, new, and covered. Three stars describes it better than four.
