Excellent!

Watch out for extra pet charges! They tried to get a €70 payment from me. Luckily, Booking.com, where I booked, accepted my complaint. The listed apartment area also counts the balcony and parking.

The host was so kind and attentive, checking in on us often to make sure we were doing well. We came by boat, and there’s a nearby ramp available for a small fee. The spot itself is wonderfully peaceful, and the apartment has the essentials, including air conditioning and a refrigerator.

We lost €513, and Vinko still hasn’t refunded the deposit. The apartment itself is in a very good location and has good amenities, but Vinko was friendly when money was involved and, in our experience, didn’t offer the best local recommendations because he doesn’t get along with the owners. We’d planned to spend our second vacation there in 2020, but Covid and Croatia’s high-risk classification meant we couldn’t travel. Vinko ignored my questions for weeks, then said he would refund us. Later he claimed his phone had broken and he’d lost all his contact details. Another three weeks passed with no reply. If you book directly with him, even on his recommendation, be aware that you can’t get cancellation insurance and may lose the whole deposit if you can’t make the trip. It’s up to each person to decide whether that risk is worth it.
