Camping Stella Maris - Umag

The site has a lot going for it, but we left early after getting no sleep until after 4 a.m. The dog was terrified by the noise. This was our second visit and will be our last. Our first trip was cut short because of a techno concert. We mentioned that when booking this time, yet the woman still checked us in without telling us that a rave or something similar had been going on until the early hours. The same thing happened last night, and we were told it would happen again tonight. Our friends and others left too. I was disgusted that they took our booking without being upfront about it. I value honesty and integrity, and that wasn’t what we experienced. The place can be as fancy as it likes, but being deceived leaves a bad impression.

I stayed in my own tent, and the resort had everything I might need, including regular toilets, showers, and the option to rent a small safe.

The gas stove was the one worrying part: its flame was blazing and seemed unsafe. Our neighbors could also be quite noisy at times. Still, the tent was comfortable and well looked after, everything was very clean, and the staff from reception through the cleaning team were consistently polite and helpful.

We’d happily stay here again. It’s a surprisingly nice campground despite its size, and dogs are welcome. There’s a 100m dog zone on the beach where they can swim and play ball. Sanitary building number 2 was consistently clean, with enough toilets and showers for everyone. We chose pitches 499, 500, and 501 because we don’t like evening noise, and heard nothing from the street, disco music, or pool. A superior pitch was 35,80€/night, and an adult was 11,60€/night.
