Maslina

Ivan and his mother were warm and helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay. The place is in a quiet spot, conveniently close to Umag without being in the noise and crowds of the city during peak season. The rooms have been fully renovated, are spacious, and have all the facilities you need. Since it's a Bed & Breakfast, breakfast was simple but complete. You can also enjoy it, or have an espresso, outside in the little garden among the olive trees. During our stay our towels were changed and the room cleaned twice.

The house itself is clean, modern, and cozy, and I really liked the interior. BB Maslina is a nice family-run place in a small village near Umag. The owner arrived when we did, 30 minutes before expected, spoke good English, and showed us around quickly, which we appreciated. The Wi-Fi wasn't very strong, probably because of the location. If you need to work online, I wouldn't recommend this BB. The TV selection is limited too: you can log into your own streaming services, but there's little else. I'm not complaining, but some people need reliable internet or TV, and the weather was so bad during our stay that we had to spend time indoors. I'd suggest improving breakfast. Lidl products are fine, but it was the same every day. Local items would make it feel more special. The place is called Maslina, and local olives, olive oil, and other products are all around. It'd be nice to serve them at breakfast and let guests buy some if they want. There were olives, but they seemed like shop-bought ones, not from a local street stand. Little details like that could make the stay cozier. A small fridge in the breakfast room with wine, beer, and soft drinks for guests to buy would also help, since there's no store or bar in the village and you have to bring everything yourself.

It's tucked behind other houses, so it wasn't easy to find. The room was very clean, though there weren't enough clothes hangers, and the host spoke very little English. Breakfast was good, and the location was wonderfully quiet. It was supposed to start at 8 am, but on both days it arrived nearly half an hour late.

Good enough for the price, and the sea is clean. The beach is rocky and 1.8 km away. Wi-Fi isn't great, and the mobile signal comes and goes. Kaufland in Umag is about 3 km away.
