Apartments Silvia 143

We left after the second night, even though we normally never post negative reviews or cut a stay short. The apartment fell far short of what its photos and description led us to expect, and it was hard to get hold of anyone managing it. It was a damp, smelly semi-basement that the photos didn’t clearly show. Hygiene was poor, with lots of spiders and insects even after we reported them. Birds and other animals kept the outdoor table dirty, so we couldn’t use it. Inside, the walls had peeling paint from humidity and mold, and some cables were exposed and covered only with tape. The bathroom light was out, the beds had no sheets, just folded blankets, and small windows were often kept shut. The mosquito nets were broken, while damaged or badly arranged curtains let morning light into the room. The 60-liter boiler wasn’t enough for three of us. After getting back late from the beach, we had to take turns showering, and there wasn’t much hot water for everyone. We arrived before the 2:00 PM time shown on Hotels.com and asked if we could leave our bags. They said check-in was at 4:00 PM. The only time we got a response from the property was when we asked for a replacement bathroom bulb. Otherwise, calls and messages went unanswered, and we had to knock because there was no doorbell and we didn’t know where anyone was.
