We ended up leaving two nights before our original checkout date of 07.29, which had been booked for 07.21-07.29. The way the hosts spoke to us, and their refusal to communicate, was unbearable. They didn’t speak the English they said they did, so we couldn’t get help when problems came up. We brought two dogs, which was allowed, but nobody had told us about the owner’s German shepherd tied up at the property. The large, long-haired dog spent much of the day tossing around on its chain in 40-degree heat. We also weren’t told that payment had to be in cash. There was no paperwork to see or sign at check-in, and after our animals had been there for two days, we were suddenly told to pay cash immediately. The location was another problem. Booking showed it on the main road, and GPS took us there, but the accommodation was actually in a dead end next door. We couldn’t call to ask how to find it. Nobody told us there were cameras everywhere. The landlord later came in the morning to ask why four people were staying in the apartment instead of two, though we weren’t. He had watched camera footage of two relatives visiting briefly the night before so we could wish one of them happy birthday. They left afterward to return to their own accommodation. The next morning they came back for breakfast, which we had discussed with the landlord in advance. We were still at the shop and only four minutes late, but the older man and middle-aged woman host shouted at them in Croatian, made no attempt to communicate, and then let the dog loose on them. That was the last straw, so we packed up and left. The woman’s awful attitude was another issue, though barely worth mentioning. To spare others the same horrible experience, I’d tell them to stay anywhere else.

We were the ones who rented the place, and the way we were treated was beyond criticism. For this kind of money, you expect something different on holiday. Like the previous reviewer said, the accommodation has problems in a lot of areas. I wouldn’t recommend it at this price. Look elsewhere.

Such a lovely family, and everything was spotless and very well looked after. Highly recommend!
