Villa Palatium I

The house is nice, though some of the details indoors could use more care, particularly at this price.

We’ve just come back from a family holiday here in 2025 and had a great time. We’d been unsure after seeing the negative Google review from 11 months earlier, but our experience was excellent and the house felt very luxurious. There were 16 of us, adults and children, and everyone enjoyed themselves. We especially loved the jacuzzi, and having a restaurant right beside the house was handy when we didn’t want to drive out for a meal. When anything needed attention, the landlord came by straight away. The Wi-Fi was weak at first, for example, but boosters were installed right away and it worked perfectly after that. We had a fantastic stay and highly recommend the house.

This is about the Palatium II house. It isn’t listed separately on Google, so I’m posting the review here. We stayed there, and it was a real disappointment. The photos make it look nice, but the actual house was very different, with many things broken or dirty. Please think carefully before booking it for a holiday. A lot of the problems were obvious around the property. The shutters on every window and door were broken, the kitchen walls were dirty, and some kitchen chairs were broken. The shower head holders were broken too, so you couldn’t hang the shower heads. There’s a swing set, but it’s nearly falling apart and isn’t secured to the ground, which is very dangerous. The foosball table was as cheap as they come. The kitchen was frustrating to use. The oven needed an hour to preheat, no joke, so my wife spent ages baking bread rolls. The refrigerator door seal was coming loose, and although the house is set up for 10 people, the toaster could only handle two slices at once. It felt like no one had thought through the small details. The two air conditioners are in the main rooms on each floor, but the cool air doesn’t reach the bedrooms. If you can’t handle heat while sleeping, expect some very uncomfortable nights. The floors are only connected by an outside staircase, which makes no sense to me. Wi-Fi was supposedly available, but when we could get a signal, the download speed was only around 1-2 Mbps, not even fast enough for Netflix. That was outrageous in 2022. Cleaning was difficult too. There was a broom and mop, but the mop was well past its best. We asked for a vacuum cleaner and got one that was broken. Why not replace it? The landlord seemed interested only in making money without putting anything back into the property. We won’t stay in this house again, or in any of the houses offered by this provider.

We had a wonderful holiday, helped along by the incredibly welcoming hosts. The house was spotless and beautiful, with a pool, a big whirlpool, pool table, table tennis, fitness equipment and more. Lovely beaches are just a 3-minute drive or bike ride away, Pula Arena is 10 minutes away, and there’s a very good restaurant right next door.
