We loved the quieter pace in Vela Luka, especially compared with Korcula town. During our week we went there twice, visited the other small towns, and found lovely little bays, marinas, and beaches along both coasts. You can also reach Vela Stina cave from the apartment. It's an interesting visit, with either a 4 km uphill walk or drive and spectacular views, or a shorter 1 km walking path. The town museum has artefacts from the cave. Korcula is known for Posip white wine, and there are plenty of small wineries to visit or taste at. Restaurants also have good wine lists, and the house wines are usually very good. Apartment Rosemary is about a five minute walk from the marina, cafes, and restaurants. It's upstairs, private, and the family lives downstairs. Tonci and Andrea gave us a warm welcome, with drinks, fresh grapes, homemade pancakes, and even freshly cooked tuna caught by Tonci. That was extraordinary hospitality. They were around for questions and suggestions, and even lent us their pressure washer to clean the car. We couldn't rate them highly enough. The apartment felt brand new, with modern fittings, quality furniture and appliances, and everything was spotless. The big bed was very comfortable, with lovely linens, and the shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. We had an oven, stovetop, kettle, pans, and utensils for simple meals and breakfast. The living room had a comfortable couch and a large TV with lots of channels and a great picture. There was a dining table for four, plus a front balcony with chairs, a small table, and a drying rack. The washing machine was in the bathroom, so it really did feel like a home away from home.
