Ivan Apartment

Ivan was a great host. The apartment is lovely, close to Makarska center, and has a beautiful view of the coast and beaches.

The staff were rude and unpleasant, and the booking was cancelled.

The greeting was friendly, but the hostess turned unfriendly when we first raised our concerns. She kept interrupting, so we couldn’t get a word in. There was mold in the shower, its door wouldn’t close, and the air conditioning was extremely loud and constantly leaking. The beds were awful, about like sleeping on the floor. We said we’d leave the next day and she could keep our €160 deposit. That led to another argument, and she wanted us out immediately without returning the deposit. We left the following morning. I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation.

I don’t recommend this apartment after a bad experience in August 2022. The host was unkind, and there were several missing or broken things: no hair dryer or iron, the refrigerator didn’t work, the jacuzzi wouldn’t heat the water, and the washing machine was missing. Laundry cost extra despite all these shortcomings. The air conditioner had no drain, so each day we had to empty its water into a 6-10l container on the balcony. The beach is very steep and takes about 45 minutes to walk to, although Booking says 15. Getting back uphill was terribly tiring and took about an hour because of the hill and sand. A car is the best way to get between the apartment and the beach, especially on the way back.
