Villa de Linda

We had an awesome, peaceful holiday at Villa de Linda, staying for two weeks with family and our infant. Ivana was a superb host, checking in regularly and offering advice about taxis, restaurants, and other local things. She’d also left some food for our first day, which we really appreciated. The villa was spotlessly clean and had everything for a comfortable stay, including a pool, hot tub, comfortable loungers, and beds. It’s outside Makarska, up a very steep hill. The views are wonderful, but you’ll need to drive or take a taxi to go into town. We usually walked in and took a taxi back. A one-way trip costs around €20-25.

The view was fantastic, and the house was even better than it looked in the pictures. We spent a week there with a couple of friends and can definitely recommend it. Five stars.

The sea view from the pool is fantastic, and there’s no problem with loud music. The villa is on the hillside in Makar, next to a cemetery. It’s modernly furnished and well maintained, and the owner is very dedicated, friendly, easy to reach, and helpful. Two things took away from the experience a bit. The grill is small for a house with this many beds and guests, especially in a country where barbecuing is popular, and it heats slowly and not very well. Also, the toilets have no locks, so we accidentally walked in on each other several times and lost some privacy. We would book it again.

The villa was spotless and ready for our holiday, with beautifully furnished rooms that looked like the pictures and had lovely attention to detail. Everything felt tastefully designed, and we quickly felt at home. The amenities left nothing to be desired. There was even a grocery package waiting in the refrigerator, so we didn’t have to shop right away. Ivana was a pleasure to deal with, always ready with tips about Makarska and checking in regularly to see if we needed anything. The villa sits with the mountain behind it, and the view over Makarska from up there is breathtaking. It’s quiet, peaceful, and we could really enjoy our stay. We’d happily give this fantastic place six stars if we could. We’ll be back. See you soon!
