The rooms were clean and the location was good. The town is small, the water was just so-so, and it worked as a base for visiting other, nicer towns. The trouble started with payment. When we booked, the woman we dealt with said we could pay the balance by bank transfer or cash after arrival. On the day we arrived, while we were already in Croatia and on our way to the accommodation, she messaged that she couldn’t see the money in her account and said we had to pay cash on site. We hadn’t brought enough cash because a transfer had been offered, and who would pay the whole amount before arriving? Withdrawing money from an ATM meant a 17% fee, about 1,000 zł for two apartments. After a lot of stress and asking, she eventually agreed to a transfer. Our first day of vacation, after a long journey, was already tense. The next days with the owners weren’t any better. When the man saw the air conditioning on, he’d come check that the windows were closed. He once entered the room without knocking, saying he had to repair the lock. My husband broke a small plate, and the man came by the next day to point it out. The power went out after there had been a fire on Ciovo, and it was off for two days, only coming back at night. The owner didn’t come tell us it might be a longer outage. There was food in the fridge and no air conditioning, and we had to ask ourselves why the power was gone. For our two-week stay, we were given one roll of toilet paper, liquid soap, and towels. We had to buy dish soap, a sponge, a cloth, and garbage bags ourselves. There was supposedly a grill, but it was a rusty stand with a grate. The small yard was neglected, though we can live with that since we only sat there once. The oven in the apartment downstairs didn’t work. After we left, the man called to say the TV had no sound and that we’d probably broken something, even though we hadn’t turned it on once. That’s the story of our stay. I’ve described what happened, and the decision to stay here is yours. To the owners, I’d say let guests enjoy their vacation instead of worrying about whether the “air con is working.”

Just a few steps from the apartment, there’s a beautiful beach and crystal-clear sea. The apartment itself was neat and clean, and the hosts were lovely and kind.

The Wi-Fi barely worked, and in my apartment there was only one spot where I could get reception. We’d arranged with the owners to have two beach loungers per apartment, but only one apartment had any, and that one had three torn-up loungers. There was no barbecue, and the property was generally in disarray. At €80 a night, it was definitely too expensive.

The coast and beach are only 50 meters away. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and the price seemed fair for what we got.
