Apartmani Vinkuran

The room was clean, breakfast was a very good continental spread and complimentary in my case, and there was a pool and free Wi-Fi. The other staff members were kind and helpful. The location is in Vinkuran, quite far from Pula, and the nearby beaches within walking distance aren't worth visiting, so having your own wheels is a must. I arrived around 7 pm and was put in an attic loft room without a balcony, even though it wasn't the room I'd booked. When I complained, the front desk guy said the previous shift had “accidentally” given it to someone else. Apologies weren't enough, so he negotiated with me and offered free breakfast and drinks all day during my two-night stay, plus about 30 € for the supposed difference in room rates. I accepted, as it was good enough. On the second night he ignored me, probably worried I'd ask for something to drink :)

We loved the modern, comfortable rooms and entrance, the plentiful parking out front, and bright rooms with a fridge, great air conditioning, and a modern TV. The beds, pillows, and furniture all looked new and clean. Our private, cozy terrace was perfect for evening wine. The pool and outdoor area never felt too crowded, so it was easy to relax and take in the lovely view. The very friendly staff brought cold water whenever we used the pool and were happy to bring more or help with any other requests. I especially appreciated how kind, discreet, and enthusiastic the guys serving us were. The owner, I think, was one of the most courteous and friendliest people I've met at a hotel. We enjoyed it so much that we decided on the spur of the moment to extend our stay, and thankfully that was no problem. The one shortcoming was housekeeping. They missed our room two days in a row, so we had to ask for clean towels, toilet paper, and a broom ourselves. The bathroom floor often wasn't cleaned, the ashtray was left unemptied, and the sink got only a quick clean. Maybe I'm used to “better,” but these feel like basic things to me. I really hope they're handled better next time. Still, that didn't take away from how much we enjoyed the stay.

Second year here, and it's still great. Things have changed, and they haven't, but the quality is just as good. It's adults only, so no kids, and the place is super clean. The staff are amazing, breakfast is delicious, and prices are great. Recommend 100%.

A peaceful, lovely residence with a pool and a nice view over the town. Recommend!
