Apartments Jolić

We felt so at home with Filka and Mija, who quickly became dear to us. The owners were incredibly kind, even making a big plate of delicious pancakes for the children and serving us a lovely breakfast the next morning, all so generously. They welcomed us with homemade olive oil and sweets for the kids, too. The apartments in the Jolič apartment were new and spotless, as if we were the first guests. The house is in a quiet part of the island, and evenings were genuinely peaceful. We’d choose the Jolič apartment again on our next trip to Croatia, just to see Filka and Mija. When people put this much heart and love into what they do, it shows 🌸

Our car broke down halfway through the trip, so getting there turned into quite an adventure. Mijo came to pick us up himself and reassured us that we could relax while he handled everything. Thanks to all the help, we reached the apartment that evening. Filka had even prepared a cold plate and pancakes for us! We were staying here again this summer, and we’re so grateful for a wonderful, carefree holiday. I’ve never experienced hospitality so generous and full of warmth. Nothing to complain about at Uncle Mio’s place, including the grill. We were treated to sligovica and pot roast, too. There was a gift waiting for us, and a surprise grill dinner.

We arrived as guests and left as friends. Hvala za gostoprimstvo. We’ve already booked again for 2018, this time for late May or early June. The rooms were very clean and furnished in a practical, thoughtful way. I especially liked the outdoor shower and used it throughout our 14 days. If you’re lucky, the hosts might also arrange a barbecue afternoon. The guests come from different countries and are good company. There are lots of places to shop nearby, though you’ll need a way to get around. Ask Mijo or Vilka where the locals swim. Also try the olive oil from Makarska, which is fruity with no hint of bitterness, and the Slivovic from Slavonia. If cooking isn’t your thing, there are plenty of restaurants offering familiar Croatian and Dalmatian dishes. Look them up before choosing. There’s a lot to explore on Vir, Nin, Pag, and Zadar. The beach beside the pine forest works well for families with children. The water stays shallow for quite a way before it gets too deep to stand. I couldn’t find a single bad thing to say about the place or the couple who run it. We had a perfect holiday with hosts who were genuinely caring.
